Quatre Bras II - a Bloody Draw

As our gaming time drew to a close the French were unable to force the day. Allied reinforcements were drawing close to the battle and although the French cavalry came close to cutting the road north, this time they were unable to do so.

The allied centre has been worn and was close to collapse but we'd run out of time!

Another good game using these rules. We enjoyed it so much we have decided to play the whole Waterloo campaign. Tracking casualties and leader loses will be interesting - in last week's game Picton bought it - so it would be interesting to see what impact that would have had at Mont St Jean.

Quatre Bras - with Blucher

Our second game using the Blucher rules written by Sam Mustapha.

We're really lucky to have some custom built 6mm 3D terrain for this battle and have put it to use over the last couple of weeks trying out the rules.

Overall we're quite pleased with them. They are fairly clear and we've been able to pick them up and even those who don't have a set are able to follow the turn sequence.

Our first game ended up in a French tactical victory.

This week's game.....well, we'll see.

The French press forward. Allied troops move up on the French left flank.

Overview of the centre.

Back to Hoegaarden

Nothing too exciting, but first spot of painting for a few weeks. Skirmishers for my Hoegaarden army accompanied by some new music - nice way to spend a Sunday !
