Hello Everybody,
It's Stuart's son here. I'm very sorry to let you all know that Dad passed away yesterday, in the hospital with my mum beside him.
He was finishing up another book that is in the process of being published; I'll let you guys know more details about that once we get some more immediate issues addressed.
Dad's blog meant a lot to him - he loved sharing his projects and what he was working on with you guys. He'd been working on here for 10 years! I wanted to thank you on his behalf for the support on here and with his other work, and let you know that it's been a real honor to share such a special man with you all.
All the best to youse. Spend some time with your loved ones and let them know what they mean to you.
Lewis

So very sorry to read this. Stuart was one of the good ones and will be sorely missed by us all.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about this truly sad news. I have always greatly enjoy Stuart's blog and learned a lot from him. Its curious that you met and get to know people on the internet or blogger world and think of them as friends but never met. My little world is sadder today for his loss.
I can only echo what the others have said and wish you and your family my thoughts and prayers. I am very sorry for your loss. Stuart's blog was a wonderful treat to read. Like Old Nick said, you start to think of your fellow hobbyists as friends you just haven't met in person, yet.
What sad news, may your dads memory be eternal.
My heartfelt condolences to your family.
Ed

Sorry to read the news, Lewis - it seems to have been a very sudden and rapid change in health for your dad. I was only an occasional visitor to his blog but he was obviously a well-liked and respected member of our community.
Lewis thank you for taking the time to update us at what must be a very difficutl time. You and your family have my condolences on your loss. I have enjoyed your dad's blog and the books he has produced.

My condolences to you and your family. I met your father at a wargames show in 2019. I only spoke to him for a few minutes, but his wargaming book will stay on my shelves for decades to come. I hope that in time his loved ones can take comfort in how his memory will live on to so many in future years.
This is terrible news. Deepest condolences to you and your family, Lewis.

Thank you Lewis for letting us know. It was a privilege to know your Dad albeit briefly, to play occasional wargames along side him, and collaborate with illustrations for one of his books. This is a very sad loss to the wargaming world. Best wishes to all your family in these trying circumstances. Chris G
So sorry to hear your news. My thoughts are with you and your family. Stuart was such good company. He will be sorely missed by many.
I was sorry to hear today of Stuart’s passing. He was a wonderful fella and over the last few years he was my late night drinking partner at Wild Geese weekends at Stoneleigh each June. I’ll raise a glass to him this year. My condolences to you and your mum.
I had the good fortune to meet your dad 4 or 5 times at different wargames events . He was a terrific man , full of life , funny , intelligent but overall impression of him was his kindness to others. He had a generous spirit and he was happy to share , the wargames community will miss him , I know I will please accept my condolences, my thoughts are with you and your family. Martin
My condolences to your family Lewis, I had the privilege of calling him a friend.
Meeting yearly at Kenilworth and sharing a few beers and discussing wargame things was a joy. His gaming ideas were an inspiration for all the waraming community. A sad loss and he will be missed.

Willz.
I was very shocked to hear about this; I am not a regular follower of his blog, and was not aware he was ill - please accept my condolences.
Over the years we have spent many a happy hour pushing around toy soldiers and rolling dice down at Kenilworth, and afterwards chatting into the early hours over a beer or two. We also regularly had a chat at shows when we bumped into each other. He was a really nice chap and I was lucky to have him as a friend - I will miss him very much!
Be assured we will have a few beers in his memory when we all meet up again in June.

My condolences. Thoughts with your family at this tough time
Lewis,
Please can I add my condolences as well to you and your family. I also had the privilege to meet him over the last few years at the Wild Geese weekend at Kenilworth and he was always great company, especially late at night sitting around a table outside with a night cap or two, fizzing with enthusiasm and ideas. He will be hugely missed.

Sorry to hear about the loss of Stuart. I first met him when I collected him at Birmingham Airport to take him to a Wild Geese weekend at Kenilworth, A very bubbly character who made a lating impression on all those fortunate to meet him. He'll be much missed.
Absolutely devastated at the loss of Stuart. A great man and stalwart of the club, on a personal note a great friend. He will be sorely missed by us all at Oldmeldrum Wargames Group.
