Taptoe

Things move at pace. Sadly in the wrong direction. The meeting with the consultant yesterday was not a good one and a heavy blow to my family and I.

I share this with you because in December I had no clue and no symptoms of cancer that stood out from life's normal aches and pains. Know your body. Speak to your Doc if Anything Changes. In my case my relatively young age, and relatively healthy body means the cancer has advanced very quickly.

I'm not away quite yet, and hope to be comfy enough to get  couple of games in.

For now I leave you with a line from the Battle of Maldon

Hige sceal þe heardra, || heorte þe cēnre,
mōd sceal þe māre, || swā ūre mægen lȳtlað

"Will must be the harder,
                         heart the bolder,
spirit must be the greater,
                         as our might lightens."

Nothing I can say can make any difference I know, it's hard to get over it as you are so young compared to me and I managed to recover well from my cancer so count every day as lucky. But you have done such great things for our hobby and I really enjoyed the new knowledge and pleasure I got from our collaboration and games together. I really hope you can get in many more. Chris G

I was really shocked when I heard this news Stuart, but obviously nothing like the shock you must have received. What can one say, that hasnt been said already, I can only say, stay as strong as you can, accept the advice of the health staff and the very best of luck.
